Weekend Recap

Friday night: very interesting.  I came home, took a nap and we just relaxed.  Remember the noisy neighbors.???  Well, they are moving out Wed, and ever since they mentioned that they were moving, they haven't cared at all about how loud their kids are.  They had a ton of people over to play cards Friday, and were so loud I could hear them in my living room as if they were sitting next to us.  We tried talking to them, but no response.  So we turned our music up and continued lounging.  A little while later (which was later than we thought it was), they come down all pissed bc they can hear us.  Needless to say, it turned ugly.  Any relationship we hoped to have with them as friends is over.  We can't wait for them to move!  It was so bad, I was in tears bc I couldn't get away from them at all, and no one should have to deal with that in their own home.

So my dad tied the knot again Saturday.  He has been dating his new wife for about 3yrs now, they live together, share finances and have made some large purchases together, so to me, getting married is just a technicality (besides, this is wedding #3).  I know I don't talk a lot about my family here, and my dad is someone that I have really had to work to have a relationship with.  After he and my mom separated, we didn't see each other much, and I really didn't agree with decisions he made.  Now that I am older, it really doesn't bother me, as his choices really don't affect me as they seem to do my sisters.  All drama aside, as long as he is happy, I am happy for him.

Because this is his 3rd marriage and her 2nd, they decided to go SUPER casual.  They got married in my grandparents backyard, in front of their new travel trailer, with a friend of theirs as the officiant (he is an ordained minister).  There was a bbq following and my step-brother's band played for a while.  I managed to get a few pics, and I think it sums up my dad perfectly (not necessarily how I will do my next wedding, but to each his own!).

Step Brother's band... he is playing the drums.  They were actually really good!  Oh! And this is my grandparents 2nd home, it was built over 60yrs ago by my Great Grandfather.  My grandfather is completely remodeling it, down to the studs and back.

New Family.  My Step sister is on the far left, Step Brother on the far right.
Sunday:  My mom and I met up with 15 friend in Grandville around 10am, then we took a limo down to South Haven for breakfast and then Saugatuck for the rest of the day.  My mom has organized this for the past 3yrs, and it is so much fun!!  The Taste of Saugatuck was Sunday, there were tons of food vendors, bands playing, sun and just all around fun!  Besides a couple people not being able to handle their drinks, we had a really good time.  Always a fun way to end the summer!

Hope you all had a great weekend, and with the holiday weekend coming up, I am counting the days until this coming Friday :)
