I need some advice... I love where we live, and our neighbors upstairs are pretty cool... but they have 3 small children, and hardwood floors... can you see where I am going with this???
We don't live in a traditional apartment structure, it is an old office building converted into 3 apts. Ours in the biggest one, and the only one on the main floor, with the laundry room. There is a small studio apt above the laundry, and then the neighbors. Like I said, they are super cool... fun, young like J and I, etc. But it's super annoying to constantly hear running, dropping of toys, etc right above you.
I don't even know how to approach it. They always tell us if they are too loud to let them know, and I wouldn't say it is unbearable, just annoying.
Ah well, the joys of apt life...
Oh that's tough! If it was an animal you could complain to the landlord but... well, kids are gonna be kids. You can't keep them from running around the house and dropping things. :( Not sure there is much you could do about it. Possibly just bring it up in passing kind of... while talking with your neighbors someday after it's been really loud just say something like "I thought you guys were coming through our ceiling!!"
ReplyDeleteMaybe it would help if they put down some area rugs. The dropping things might not sound so loud.
Hope you can sort something out because that would def be annoying.
