One thing I struggle with in the morning... what to wear for the day.  My work environment is an office setting, but casual.  It's really just me and the office/billing manager and maybe the owner.  No outside people coming in, save the UPS guy and the occasional patient now and then.  So I can get away with jeans, khakis and nice tops, but I am not required to "dress up" by any means.

Sunday night, I decided to start planning outfits for the week, and hanging them in the bathroom closet (J sleeps in, so I hate rummaging through the closet in the morning and waking him up).  There wont be an "order" that I have to wear things, but I will try everything on Sunday, to help me figure out if things fit right, feel right, look right, etc (I am trying to utilize all of the pieces in my 2 closets, and sort out what can be donated, thrown away, etc).   I am hoping this makes the mornings go faster, as I always feel like I am rushing and not always presenting myself in the way that I should be, if that makes sense.

I know all of this sounds crazy and overly structured, but when I feel like I have been the past few days, I CRAVE structure, balance, and a feeling of having control.  I've always had to control something, and while this may seem minor to some, I feel better knowing there is one less thing I have to worry about.

  1. This is a great idea for going through the closet. Is it still working for you?

  2. I just got rid of 4 bags of clothes and still have way too many!

One thing I started is buying QUALITY of quanitity... if I wear it every week, it's okay! I completely stopped shopping at Forever 21 and Target (even though I love) cause that stuff never lasts and I'm only buying it more and more...

I also write down what I wear to work and take pictures of combos I like so I can remember them for later...

But I feel ya... I was at a job that I didn't put myself together at all... now I have a basically new wardrobe, new hair, and new makeup and I feel GOOD about getting up in the morning!
