So, I usually don't share things like this, mostly because other than my Sunday Night "Spa Nights", I am a pretty low-key girl... I love me a good face mask, love to play with makeup, but just don't go all out for the most part.
When I found Meg's blog, I immediately thought she was super adorable, refreshing, and funny. And the girl has great make up tips (seriously, Meg, can you come do my hair and makeup daily??? K... Thanks!). I have been reading her blog for a while (but just realized I wasn't following her... wth?!?!?), and adore her updates.
Through a recent post, I stumbled upon her posts for her makeup remover and skin brightening toner... both of which are all natural and budget friendly! I was worried about the olive oil, as my skin is very acne prone, but can I say... both are amazing! I have only been using them for the past 5 days, and already I can tell a difference in my skin. I had a massive zit Saturday night (gross, I know), and by Monday morning, it had practically vanished. Plus, I usually wake up with traces of mascara in the morning, even after removing all of my make up the night before. Not with this!
So here is what I did (which is really just following Meg's directions)... I bought a pkg of the 3oz travel bottles, and put the olive oil in one. It is sitting right on the window sill next to the bathroom sink. Before bed, I just put a little in my palm and then smear it all over my face, and yes, that is the technical term :). After that, I apply my face wash and rub that in really well (I use the Target brand "Glow and Gleam" I think... green writing on the bottle... works awesome!) and then rinse with warm water.
I have another travel bottle that I filled with Meg's recipe: filled 3/4 of the way with Witch Hazel, which I found in the first aid dept of the grocery store; and then the rest of the way with Lemon Juice. I shake it really well before putting a small amount on a cotton pad and applying to my entire face. (I've also been doing this in the morning bc it is so non-irritating!). Then I follow with moisturizer and I am good to go.
Seriously, best 2 things I have done for my skin in a long time!
Now, go check out the blog of one of the cutest pregnant ladies out there! Seriously... NOW!!! :)
