Google Friend Connect - How much I HATE it right now... (EDITED!)

So, after a weekend of AMAZING food, friends and great time (more on that in another post), I am sitting on the couch, thinking about this darn issue taking place with Google Friend Connect.  I use Google Reader to read all of my blogs.  There are A LOT that I follow... 200 some blogs??  Well, I guess I am just confused as to how this removal of  Google Friend Connect on non blogger blogs is going to play out?  Will they just disappear from my reader???  Yikes!

Or rather, the title of this blog should be: How much I HATE having to go through my google reader blogroll and figure out who is using non-blogger blogs and having to subscribe other ways... DUMB!  It's not broken, why bother changing it!?!?!?

So here I sit today.  I am right now opening all of the my blogs, and copying the web address into a word document.  One weekend I tried opening each blog, and then if they weren't a blogger blog, checking the RSS feed option, but then I had to unsubscribe in reader, and unfollow in blogger, or they were showing up twice.  Can I just say that this is a royal pain in my arse??  So much so that I am seriously thinking about creating this list in word, then DELETING all of my subs from both Blogger and Reader, and starting over March 1... what a pain?!?!?  If it's not broke, don't mess with it!!!

How are the rest of you dealing with this issue?  Or am I making it a bigger issue and do I really have nothing to worry about??

EDIT: 4:15pm-

So, as I am copying all of these blogs into a document, I am simmering down a little bit. I like to see "blank slates", clean canvases, etc.  I always look forward to a new start, and as simple as blogging may be, I am thinking this is the kick I need.  Do I need to follow all these blogs?  Blogs I don't have time to comment on, and really communicate with the writer?  So, what I am thinking, is I am going to read and clean out my Google Reader (currently 906 unread posts), and then I AM going to delete all blogs from Reader and Blogger, and start over.  I am going to go through the document I am creating, re-follow and then COMMENT!  That's the most fun part of blogging!
Yes, this plan is severely anal, and I am sure I am making a bigger deal out of something than need be, but this is the best way for me to process a situation I can't control.  So, if you see that you have lost a follower, know that I will be back :)

  1. I moved all my blogs over to BlogLovin'. That way you don't really have to worry about GFC, etc etc. It was a really quick process and I like the interface. Maybe you should give it a try?
