***The events of this week still do not seem real.... Saturday was the Funeral, and I think that I have just been in planning/support mode for my Uncle, Cousin and grandparents, not even comprehending what just happened. Tuesday is Burial, and we will have the Autopsy report before we go do that. I can't guarantee that at some point in the next few days I won't finally snap and be a puddle of emotional mush, but for right now, just trying to stay busy. And with that, I give you probably the most girly post I could come up with :)
So, in MI it is def shorts and skirt season. J made the comment last night that for YEARS, I would not wear anything other than jeans. Well, with some confidence my friends, that has changed. However, it took me a long time to find a shaving routine that didn't leave my legs all cut up and covered in red bumps. I think I've finally perfected it! (And seriously, all I could think about last night was sharing it on the blog... silly!)
Here is the products, all assembled.
-Olive Oil
-Olive oil/sugar scrub (I poured a bunch of regular table sugar in a container and mixed olive oil in)
-St. Ives Apricot Face & Body Scrub
-Kabuki makeup brush
-Shaving Cream
-Razor (I am loving the new Schick HydroSilk razor!)
-Vaseline Aloe Vera Moisturizing Gel
I always shave my legs in the tub... it's easier and more relaxing than standing and trying to maneuver in the shower.
1. As tub is filling, dump a generous amount of olive oil into the water. You will have to swish it around with your hands, as oil and water do not mix :)
2. Relax, read a book, txt, etc while water fills. I generally soak for about 10minutes in the oil bath.
3. Using the sugar scrub, rub your legs down well. Make sure to rinse well.
4. Then, rub your legs down VERY well with the St. Ives Scrub. Rinse well
-This step really removes a lot of the oil residue, which can clog your razor fast!
5. Using the Kabuki brush, apply shaving cream to your legs (at this point, I usually focus on one leg at a time)
-I read about this tip in Cosmo I think (or Glamour). If you think about it, it is how they apply the cream at a barber shop. It makes the hair stand up, making it easier to get a close shave.
6. Shave away! Make sure to rinse your razor often (I usually leave a small stream of water running, or else you will be rinsing in the oil water, which is sure to clog your razor)
After I am done shaving, I then drain the water and hop in the shower to wash my hair and face. At this point, I wash with a moisturizing body wash and a loofah. This step will help remove the uncomfortable oil residue from your skin. After my shower, I use the gel. It helps prevent the bumps, but also makes my skin feel amazing!
So there it is... my trick for getting super smooth, super soft gams!
And of course, no Spa-Girly time is complete without a yummy glass of this:
Hope all of you lovlies are having a great weekend!!! And make sure you hug the ones you love super close this weekend :)
