I am once again behind in the blogging world when it comes to posting at a "relevant time", but Carolyn and Kristin both posted about this a couple of weeks ago, and it got my mind turning, as I have been wanting to run a race for a long time...
My friend Debi and I were going to run the 5/3 River Bank Run, which is huge and apparently draws crowds from all over the world (largest 25k race in the USA, according to the website). Well, it is right in our backyard and we thought it would be the perfect "First" Race... until life took over in the form of my sisters wedding, and Debi was put on a medication with side effects that include the possibility of stretching and/or tearing ligaments... which means no running :(
BUT we wanted to do the Warrior Dash in the fall. Well, just googled it and it is the same day that we will be up north for the Journey concert... boo!!!
Which leaves the Color Run. I have heard that this is super fun, and Kristin and Carolyn both mentioned they will be participating in the MN race in July. Debi and I started throwing the idea around a couple of months ago, so I looked into that one also. Now, she is going to be out of town. I think I am still going to do it, maybe with another friend who needs to get her butt in gear as much as I do and start running again. I also think I might ask my cousin if she would like to start running with me, as it may get her mind off of some things.
