Blogher: Describe a favorite place

My favorite place... I LOVE being in Western Michigan and being so close to the water.  LOVE IT!  One of my favorite cities is Saugatuck.  Anytime I have a free Saturday night, or a Sunday, I grab some girl friends and we head down!  In the winter, it's usually to our favorite bar, in the summer, its shopping and lunch.  It's such a cute, touristy little town that is so close to home... perfection.

Now, besides my favorite bar, my favorite place about Saugatuck is Mt. Baldhead, or Mt. Baldy to the locals.  282 steps up to the top of the dune, and then hiking paths leading to another large dune, which drops you onto Oval Beach... pure amazingness, and a great work out :)

Stopping and taking it in while hiking... I love that while you are hiking to the beach, you are surrounded by trees, and then all of a sudden you get a glimpse of the lake :)

I absolutely LOVE Lake Michigan... There really is nothing else like it....

I LOVE taking trips down there, and I am def looking forward to hiking it more this summer :)
