Blogher Prompt: Are you the person you thought you would be at this age?

So, still riding the wave of Birthday Week... this prompt seemed fitting.

10yrs ago, if you would have asked me where I would be now, I would have it all laid out for you.  Married, College Degree, 2 kids, my own home, the dog, and working as a Child Psychologist.  Quite the "Apple Pie, American Dream"... huh?

Fast forward to now.  Divorced (but still in the relationship), Degree on hold after 3 semesters, self proclaimed D.I.N.K.'s who spoil their niece and nephews to pieces, renting an apt that I am not in love with, no pets (per J), and helping to run a DME company.  Not bad, but not what I thought...

I think as great as it is to have dreams and ambitions... a PLAN... it takes a lot to be able to roll with the punches, take the hand your dealt and make it work. 

Do I want to go back to school?  Of course, but a change in my major is in order, once life settles down with J changing jobs, potentially moving, etc.  I would really like to pay off my current student loans before I add more to the mix.

Will I maybe someday change my mind about getting remarried and having babies... sure.  Though sitting up at 11:11, watching The Client List on Hulu and drinking wine is pretty fabulous, too.
