Love that song, btw :) Everytime a friend of mine works out, she posts a picture of her mileage from her bike on FB, in an album with that title... so fun!
**I ran my first 5k... at the gym of course, but still! Came in at 40min, which is not where I want to be at ALL... but it felt amazing to know that I CAN do it :)
Anywho... I am sitting here this weekend going through recipes. I came across a couple that really got me thinking. Sassy Water and the Green Monster Smoothie. I am thinking these are going to become a new staple and hopefully help me become healthier. There are so many variations on the Green Monster, and I found one that uses pineapple, which I am hoping is okay for me... everytime I eat citrus fruits lately, I get these weird bumps all inside my mouth and on my tongue... yuckis!
Back to the point. I am going to be working really hard on getting to the gym 5-6days a week - running as much as I can, drinking the smoothie every morning, and then trying to stay away from soda, juice, etc. I want to try and drink this water daily during the week, and then if I have wine on the weekend, it won't be AS bad.
Diet wise, I am thinking about making some major changes. I LOVE me some steak every now and then, and chicken isn't bad, but I LOVE me some veggies. I am thinking about going meatless, except for 1 day maybe during the week. I know for a fact J won't be jumping on board with this! He has been logging his calories and working out with me, but he is such a "meat and potatoes" guy that I can't expect him to give that up. Which will make dinner time interesting here, but it will be worth it for me. I want to eat better, I feel better when I do...
So that is the plan around here. I am not planning on turning this into a food/workout focused blog, BUT as I have said before, I don't see my blog fitting into 1 particular genre. It's my blog, my space, and this is what is on my mind today... tomorrow? Who knows :-)
